Write an essay about 400 words: descripting your thought on media use include photograph if you want.
Media is a tool or equipment, way or a medium to mediate information. Media means of conveying information, or that by which something is expressed. The purpose of mediating things is to communicate across space and time with as many people as possible. In dictionary, media simply means 'a plural of medium'. Generally we use 'media' to refer to the 'mass media' collectively. It can reach a large number of people or audience. Today, information is mediated by highly advance technology. Though free to make choice of our own, most of us opt to be consumers of the professional productions of relatively few corporations which are closed and centralized, but the reception is public and dispersed.
Media refers to various means of communication., messages that are distributed through the technologies. It means by which information is distributed or communicated. There are old media which are telephone, diaries, record players and others while the new media are webcams, blogs, podcasts and others. The combination of the conventional media with the Internet yields new forms that combine elements of radio, TV, film and print. Some considerations on the qualities of the new media that set them apart from the conventional mass media include the interactivity, desktop production, multimedia forms and narrow casting. The changing media in a changing world have important implication in the media industries, lifestyles, social issues, politics, and challenging career opportunities.
Media forms are the look or appearance of the tools that we readily use to obtain or impart information. There are many types of media forms; throughout history, from the use of technology or its uses in different cultures. For instance, primitive, printed, electronic or digital and art media. There also some media theories which mean a set of ideas formulated to explain something; opinion, supposition; statement of the principles of a subject. The concept of media is the idea underlying a class of things; general notion. For example, sign, symbol, code, text and context which are elemental concepts while reading, intertextuality, metaphor, metonymy, narrative, mediation, genre and discourse which are practical concepts.
In conclusion, we study the media because by studying the media we studying ourselves as social creatures and it is the best way to understand ourselves.
